What’s on the back of Cole’s mic-stand?

A sign that reads “Hello” – because he feels like “Hello” (or its equivalent in other languages) is one of the most welcoming words in human communication.


How do you describe your style?
A fun mix of Folk/pop, World/African - something to make the girls go "ooh"! - and the guys go "yeah"! (ha ha Laughs Out Loud)... actually just great acoustic-based material, with intelligent or fun lyrics.


You produce your albums. In your first album, some of your songs feature significant violin notes. Where do you get inspiration for instruments or ideas for songs?
Every sound has a feeling which it triggers in a listener. When it's time to go sad, or grand, you have to go strings.

BIOGRAPHY
... singer/songwriter & record producer Cole, is a delightful new voice in music.

He was born in Cameroon, the W. African country of soccer greats The Indomitable Lions. He has sang in Cameroon, the US, and Asia. [He sang in a Karaoke bar!J in Asia several years ago, but tours there are being planned.J]



Accomplishments:
'Simple As I Am' won Finalist in Song of The Year contest
(benefiting Vh-1 Save the Music).

'You Remind Me', a song Cole wrote as a tribute to Dr. King, was Suggested artist honor in the contest. Cole was invited by Deb Bradway, director of GearUp, San Francisco, to be a guest speaker and inspire 8th Graders in the San Francisco area with the song.

 

A previous release of 'Simple As I Am' was one of most played independent Adult Contemporary releases in Cameroon around 2001, 2002. Cole has worked with producers David Bellochio (Queen Latifah, Hall and Oates) and Andre Bell & Janice Upchurch (Dru Hill).

In Fall 2009, Cole will begin performing internationally - “I will use songs like 'You Remind Me' and my overall career" - to have fun, and do good around the world."
